Riley Clifton Davis III's Obituary
Riley Clifton Davis, III died on February 5, 2021, at the age of 62. He passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior at home surrounded by his wife and children.
Clifton was born in Beaumont, Texas to RC Davis, Jr. and Dorothy Lois Smitherman Davis. In 3rd grade, the family moved to Dallas, Texas, where Clifton joined youth and school sports, excelling in football, baseball, and high school wrestling. After graduating Lake Highlands High School, Clifton attended the University of Texas before transferring to Baylor University and receiving a BBA in Finance. While in Waco, Clifton met and married Lisa Gail Moore. The couple moved back to the Dallas area and settled in Wylie in 1987. They raised their three children in the growing city and had their 37th anniversary on Feb. 3. Clifton had many jobs in his lifetime, but he always considered himself a teacher, enjoying his time in Princeton, Wylie, and Garland with 4th-6th grade students.
Clifton was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Deborah Herod Rampy. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, son Riley, daughters Jennifer and Diana, and grandson Connor Davis, as well as his niece Stephanie Herod Blanton and nephew Alex Herod.
