Robbie Holloway's Obituary
Robbie Smith Holloway was born December 16, 1939 in Ladonia, Texas. She was the daughter of Carl and Faye Smith. Robbie passed away December 30, 2025, at Methodist Richardson Medical Center with complications from pneumonia. Visitation is on Thursday, January 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Restland and the funeral service will be January 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Restland, Dallas. At the time of her death, she was living with her daughter Kim Nelson and son-in-law Bill Nelson.
Robbie grew up in Ladonia, Texas, and graduated from Ladonia High School in 1957 as Valedictorian, Homecoming Queen, majorette, as well as receiving other accolades. She was a long-time member of the Methodist Church. After her graduation, Robbie married Billy Wayne Doyle and moved to Dallas where she immediately went to work for a prestigious law firm as a legal secretary. She later partnered in opening a successful oil and gas exploration company until her retirement.
Robbie was an avid traveler and would spend two weeks every summer in Acapulco, Mexico with her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time traveling to Switzerland, Italy, Germany and other European countries.
In 2014 Robbie chose to go back to her roots, and moved back to her family home in Ladonia, Texas, where she and her sister grew up. She lived in Ladonia until moving to Murphy, Texas with her daughter and son-in-law. She was blessed to spend quality time with her family and beautiful great-grandson, who was just 6 weeks old at the time of her passing. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Edward Smith and mother Faye Carter Smith. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Doyle Nelson, and husband Bill Nelson, granddaughter Jessica Nelson Appell and husband Jay Appell, great-grandson Jackson James Appell, and by her sister, Carla Smith Shields and husband Ron Shields.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew and loved her.
