Robbie Evelyn Moore's Obituary
Robbie Moore, 101, of Dallas, Texas, died June 1, 2012, at home surrounded by family and friends. She was born December 3, 1910, in Palestine, Texas, the daughter of the late Jennie and Robert Kennedy. She was the last surviving sibling of 8 children. On July 3, 1935, she married Pierce Moore in Corsicana, who died in 1965. Robbie was a dedicated and trusted employee of Neiman Marcus for 34 years. She was proud to represent the store and held many important roles, including assistant buyer for hosiery. She was a beloved member of Lakewood United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She served on the Board of Directors, and managed the finances for three terms for the church. Robbie also served as President of United Methodist Women and also on their planning commission. She was an avid volunteer, organizing multiple groups to help those less fortunate, including serving on the Red Cross Commission. She served as President for Neiman Marcus Retiree Club, Williamsburg Place Condominium Association, and her book club, as well as the PTA. She had also been a Den Mother in the Cub Scouts. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Curtis Lee and Peggy Moore of Palestine, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Jennie and Stewart Kennedy of Cupertino, California; grandchildren, Robert and Chris Moore of Irving, TX, Michael Moore of Lakeland, FL, David and Kathy Moore of Irving, TX, Rosanne and Ottis Lewis of Irving, TX, Angela and Chris Yotides of Plano, TX, Timothy Moore of Carrollton, TX, and Christina and Stephen Herman of Atlanta, GA. and 14 great-grandchildren, and very special friend, Joni. A service will be held at Lakewood United Methodist Church on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 12:00 p.m., 2443 Abrams Road, Dallas TX 75214. Burial will be private. In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Lakewood United Methodist Church, or your favorite charity in honor of Robbie Moore.
