Robert Jackson Bice's Obituary
Robert Jackson Bice (“Bob”) was born in Dallas Texas on September 15, 1933. Bob graduated from Highland Park High School in 1951 and then from the University of Texas in 1955 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. From there, Bob went into Officer Candidate Training for the U.S. Coast Guard where he later served in Panama City, Florida and New Orleans, Louisiana. On October 23, 1955 Bob and Shirley were married in Three Rivers, Texas. Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley Gayle Brown of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by his son, Sheldon and his wife Diane and daughter McKenzie of Colorado Springs, Colorado and his daughter Suzanne Smart and her husband David and their sons Jackson and Coleton of Frisco, Texas. Bob’s first job was as a paper delivery boy for the Dallas Morning News and when he retired he was Vice President, Administration of Atlantic Richfield (ARCO). Bob’s career took him throughout the world, including Kuwait, Louisiana, Alaska, Dallas, Colorado and California. During this time Bob and his family loved to spend time at the beach, especially in Leucadia and Huntington Beach, California. After retirement Bob bought a bass boat and threw in his line in Lake Fork, Texas. He spent many a weekend in Lake Fork in his little home away from home. Bob also enjoyed spending time on the golf green, especially at Brookhaven Country Club where he was a lifetime member. Over the years Bob also enjoyed tennis, more beach, jazz, travel groups and his family. Robert Bice was and is loved by many and angered none. In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to the American Alzheimer Association . Memorial Service will be held Saturday October 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Restland Funeral Home, Wildwood Chapel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
