Robert "Bob" D. Hogg's Obituary
Robert D. “Bob” Hogg,
84, passed away November 24, 2020, at Presbyterian Village North, Dallas, TX. Born August 26, 1936, was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and worked for Sun Oil Company for 32 years.
Basic biographical information doesn’t begin to describe a man who lived in service to the Lord, his church, his family and his friends. Bob’s life wasn’t extraordinary – he did what many men born during this time did (school, marriage, church, work and family). But because of who he was and how he lived, he had an extraordinary impact.
Those who knew Bob describe him as dependable, generous, committed, caring, and faithful. During his lifetime at First Presbyterian Church of Dallas, Bob taught the youth and Sunday school, coached church basketball and baseball teams, served as weekly Stewpot captain, lead as an elder and deacon and helped by being church treasurer (and much more). He had a lifelong desire to study Scripture and lead a life in witness to the Lord. He and his wife Peggy were an inspiration and example to those who knew them.
Bob was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and faithful friend and mentor and will be missed by his family and many friends. He is preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Peggy Hogg and son Donald E. Hogg. He is survived by daughter, Ann-Marie, and husband, Scott Hunter and their children Sarah and Jacob; grandson, Dylan Hogg and his wife, Gaby; Chaly Balanza and his wife, Kerry and daughters, Kay and Audrey.
Visitation will be Monday, November 30, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be at Restland Memorial Park. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at later date.
