Robert Edmonds Corbell's Obituary
Robert Edmonds (Bob) Corbell, passed away Monday, June 12th, 2017 in Garland Texas at the age of 88. Bob was born in Littlefield Texas on May 12th, 1929. He spent many of his early years in West Texas before his family moved to Houston in 1940. Bob graduated from Lamar High School in 1947 then attended Texas A&M as a proud member of the Corp of Cadets. He served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division and, upon discharge, attended the University of Houston. Bob began a 34-year career with Braniff Airways in 1953, stationed in Houston, Austin, and Dallas. In 1989, Bob began working with the Garland Independent School District at various campuses including Jackson Middle School, Club Hill, and Daughtery Elementary Schools. He was preceded in death by his father Elmo M. Corbell, mother Jessie, and sister, Gwynne Krenek, He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Connie Corbell, son Robert Jr. and wife Linda of De Rio Texas, daughter Julie Snodgrass and husband Roy of Garland Texas, and daughter Carolyn Panozzo and husband John of Lanesville Indiana. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Andrew Panozzo and Ryan Panozzo, along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm, Friday, June 16, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service 10 am, Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
