Robert Earl Cox, Sr.'s Obituary
Robert Earl Cox, Sr., 87, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 in Denison, Texas of cancer and congestive heart failure. He was born November 10, 1931 to Andrew Noble Cox and Marie Cox in Dallas, Texas. Robert married Mary Jane Cole on January 24, 1950 in Dallas, Texas.He was a machinist and Methods Engineer with Texas Instruments for 35 years. Robert was a member of the International Texas Longhorn Association (ITLA). He lived his entire life in Texas, 76 years in East Dallas, 11 years in Becker community (outside Kaufman, Texas), 10 years in Forney, Texas; and his final 2 years in Sherman, Texas with his son and daughter in law.He is survived by his son, Robert E. Cox, Jr and wife Tina M. Cox of Sherman, Texas, grandchildren, Clinton A. Cox and James Lucas Hawkins; and great grandchildren, Ranger D. Cox and Hannah E. Cox. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Cox; and son, Richard Allen Cox.The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Court of Reflections at Restland Cemetery.
