Robert Dennis Gable's Obituary
Robert Dennis Gable died unexpectedly on February 28th in Dallas, TX at the age of 68. Robert is survived by his children, Ryan Gable, Leigh Gall (Keith); grandchildren, Eli Geiman and Tristan Gall; siblings, Mike Gable (Gail), Chuck Gable, Leita Gable and husband Jerry Condra; loving former wife, Kathy Gable. He is preceded in death by his father William D. Gable and mother Sarah Bostick Gable. Robert was born on October 9th, 1948 in Newport News, Virginia to William and Sarah Gable. Growing up, he and his siblings created wonderful memories during their moves and travels in the many cities they lived in across the US and Canada. He attended East Texas State where he was an active member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and ROTC. After graduating with a degree in business in 1970 he was commissioned to the Air Force and moved, as a Second Lieutenant, to Tinker Air Force Base, where his father had retired. During his time in the Air Force, he served as a Squadron Commander, was an aid to a Major general, achieved the rank of Captain, and earned a MBA from Oklahoma City University. After leaving the Air Force in 1975 he and his wife moved to Plano, Texas where he started a long and successful career in medical sales. During his career, Robert was recognized as a top performer and won many awards for his achievements in sales. In 1977, Robert welcomed his son Ryan and his daughter, Leigh in 1980. He was a very loving father. He was actively involved in his children’s activities, coached their team sports, enjoying going on family vacations, and would “talk about I love you” every night before bed. His children remember him as an energetic and enthusiastic supporter for all their endeavors. Robert became a grandfather in 2010, which was a role that he loved. He was an active supporter of Eli’s activities and was looking forward to watching both of his grandsons grow up. Robert loved the Lord and enjoyed attending Sent Church in Plano Texas. He enjoyed participating in community support with the Sent ministry and was looking forward to being involved in many more community outreach projects. Robert was a dynamic individual with a passion and excitement for all of the wonderful things that life had to offer. His enthusiasm was unsurpassed and he had a contagiousness that set others into motion. Robert never met a stranger and his charisma and charm were noticeable to all. His loss will have a lasting impact on all that knew him, but everyone can take comfort in knowing he is at peace with our Father. Funeral Service will be held at 10 am, Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Restland Wildwood Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to the service starting at 9:00 am in the chapel. Graveside service will be at 112:30 pm at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, TX. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
