Robert Douglas Sy was born February 29, 1956 in Dallas, Texas and passed away July 12, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. He married Cynthia Tutor on June 12, 1976 in Dallas, Texas. He was a Systems Engineer at Raytheon / E Systems from January 1982 to February 2014. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Sy of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Cassandra Sy of Mesquite, Texas and Teresa Sy Nelson of Garland, Texas, a son, D. Alexander Sy of Garland, Texas. and a sister, Janice Sy Alford of Austin, Texas; 6 grandchildren and parents, John Robert Sy and Frances Vernon Harrott Sy. Robert was a dedicated man. He married at 20 and remained committed to his wife and family for 41 years. He also faithfully worked for the same company for 32 years and volunteered to help users on the Ubuntu forum until he passed. As a father, he walked both his daughters down the aisle and loved his son dearly. He will be missed by his wife, sister, three children and 6 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Garden of Inspiration at Restland Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
