Robert "Mike" Edwards' Obituary
Mike Edwards 85 of Corpus Christi, beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather died on July 2, 2023. He was battling multiple complications over the past several years. Mike was born in Shreveport Louisiana in 1937 to George and Ailene Edwards. Mike started singing in a barbershop quartet in highschool. He traveled the the state competing against other quartets. He loved singing and carried on singing in quartet groups well past college. Mike received his degree from Texas Tech, Where he was active in the Sigma Chi fraternity. He met Bette Barnhill there and married her in 1960. Later they divorced in 1970. He remarried in 2000 to Yvonne Bradley who had children of her own Joe, Ben, Sarah and John. He was a member of the US Airforce and flew C119 and C130 planes. He loved plane so much he kept his pilot’s license current and had his own plane for a while. He Worked for Moore Business Forms for several years then started his own forms business called MECO Business Forms where he retired from. He is survived by his son Robert Michael Edwards Jr. and his Grandchildren Chiara and Aubrianna Edwards his sister Patricia Sims, His Nieces Pam Johnson, Lisa Prado, Chris Sonnen and his nephews Don Arning, Matt Sims, Mark Sims and George Sims and his dog Casey.
