Robert Leslie Hagin's Obituary
A beautiful, kind, courageous, strong, witty and wise man, greatly loved, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of January 21, 2009. Born on June 16, 1927 in Dallas, Robert Leslie Hagin was raised in Ft. Worth, where he was a champion tennis player in his youth. He joined the navy at age 17 in WWII. He then returned to Texas where he delighted in its people and their true stories, especially those from the oil towns. He attended Texas Christian University and the University of Oklahoma before spending his career as an independent petroleum geologist based in Dallas. Bob was a member of the Dallas and Ft. Worth Petroleum Clubs. He was preceded in death by his precious parents, George Leslie Hagin and Madge Rebecca Ingram Hagin, and a host of friends he loved and admired. He is survived by and missed dearly by his beloved sister June Hagin Oliver, his brother-in-law George Oliver, his daughter Leslie Hagin, his son-in-law Michael Subit, his long-time companion Debe Taylor, and a host of friends he loved and admired. He was a giver not a taker. A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life is being planned for Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 3:00PM, at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
