Robert Manning Hollis' Obituary
HOLLIS, ROBERT MANNING died peacefully surrounded by family on February 14, 2013. He had a full and wonderful life. He was married to Rita L. Hollis for 62 years, had two daughters, Nancy H. Sowards and Sandra H. Hinton, two sons in laws, seven grandchildren and three of their spouses, and three great grandchildren. He was born March 23, 1925 in Youngstown, Ohio to Forrest and Lillian Hollis and grew up in Rocky River, Ohio. He married Rita Langenhan on August 23, 1950 and they raised a family in Cleveland, Ohio until relocating in Dallas, Texas in 1968. He was a salesman and worked in the automotive industry until his retirement. He was passionate about his family and his church and loved working on his trains and singing in the church choir. Visitation and a memorial service will be at Custer Road United Methodist Church on Monday, February 18, 2013 commencing at 1:00 pm and followed by a private family burial at Restland Memorial Park in Richardson, Texas. We ask any donations in his memory be given to the music ministry at Custer Road United Methodist Church. The family wants to thank friends, family, Texas Oncology, and VITAS Hospice Care for their love and guidance through this difficult time.
