Robert Joseph Fobbs' Obituary
Robert Joseph Fobbs passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2016, with his loving wife and family at his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 9, 1960 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Odelia and Clavis Fobbs. Rob grew up with his two sisters and two brothers working in the family upholstery business as a Master Technician earning money for the family and was a Certified Patient Care Technician at the Fresenius Dialysis Clinic. In 1999 Rob married the love of his life Linda Nash. One of their favorite scriptures that he and his loving wife prayed every day before they left home was, “This is the day the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” He always wanted their marriage to be a ministry to others. Everything he did was a ministry to people. Rob and Linda joined Prestonwood Baptist Church in 2000. He was an Usher first before being recruited as a Greeter because of his loving (Pepsodent) smile and welcoming personality. Those close to him and for those who were blessed to cross his path can attest to his affectionate and gentle nature. Rob’s greatest gift was love! Rob loved God above all things. He loved God with all of his heart and was faithful in his worship and service inside and outside of the church. Rob’s life exemplified God’s law of love to the tee, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” He showed love in everything he did. Amidst trials and tribulations in the dark days of his life he was always encouraging and praying for others. He lifted the spirit of the Doctors, Nurses, Chaplains and Janitors at the hospital. They would always say, “We came to help you but you have encouraged us.” He would always wear one of his favorite shirts to his Doctor’s appointments which said, I AM JESUS STRONG or STRONG TO THE FINISH! His daily basket was filled with the fruits of the spirit…LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS AND SELF CONTROL. Rob was a loving and devoted husband, prayer partner, brother and uncle. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Linda Nash Fobbs, brothers Larry Fobbs, Hayward Fobbs, sisters Cynthia Fobbs Brown (Alfred), Christine Fobbs, mother-in-law Bernice Nash and a host of sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and loyal and caring friends. Service will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 10 AM at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano with visitation held one hour prior to the service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
