Robert Joseph Koudelka's Obituary
KOUDELKA, ROBERT ‘BOB’ JOSEPH Age 44, passed away Friday, August 8, 2008, as a result of a tragic accident while hiking in Colorado. He was born January 9, 1964, in Long Branch, New Jersey, to Sonia Madeline Kuchnick Koudelka and Robert Edward Koudelka. Bob was a graduate of Rice University and received his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to his parents, Bob is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kama Boswell Koudelka, sons Robert ‘Bobby’ Boswell Koudelka, Daniel ‘Danny’ Edward Koudelka, and Theodore ‘Teddy’ Joseph Koudleka. Bob is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Steve and Amy Koudelka and their children Holly, Billy and Mary Koudelka of Lynchburg, VA, as well as his wife’s family, father and mother-in-law Veta and George Boswell, M.D., sister and brother-in-law Brianna and Randall Brown, nieces Hannah and Sarah and nephew Matthew Brown of Dallas; sister and brother-in-law Maia and Stan Penc, nephew Thatcher and niece Amelia Penc of Albany, New York. Bob enjoyed an extremely successful career at Deloitte, and was a principal in Deloitte Consulting LLP. He was an eminent and expert strategist in the health care industry. The passion and commitment he demonstrated in his family and personal life also extended to his professional life. He served his clients and his firm with vigor, distinction and grace. He was more than a colleague. He was a mentor to most and dear friend to all. Bob lived life to the fullest and never wavered in celebrating it. Of all things most precious to Bob, his family was always the cornerstone, and he was their rock. He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed watching his sons excel at academic and athletic pursuits. He enjoyed reading and collecting Presidential biographies. Bob was true to his favorite quote from Thomas Jefferson, ‘Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any.’ The family will receive friends on Friday, August 15, 2008, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Alumni Commons/Great Hall of St. Mark’s School of Texas, 10600 Preston Rd. A memorial service in honor of Bob’s life will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2008, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1928 Ross Avenue in Dallas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wesley Rankin Community Center, 3104 Crossman Avenue, Dallas, TX 75212
