Robert Sparks Laughon Sr.,'s Obituary
LAUGHON, SR., ROBERT S. of Plano, Texas passed away on December 27, 2013. Rob was born on December 4, 1946 in Richmond, Virginia to and preceded in death by Frank and Mary Lou Laughon. His wife Anne Birindelli Laughon also preceded him in death. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert Jr. and Robin Laughon of McKinney, Texas and their children, Luke and Hadley, his daughter and son-in-law Cabell and Barry Bobbitt of Austin, Texas and their children, Charlie and Jude, his daughter and son-in-law Drew and Kyle Khadivi of Jacksonville, Florida. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Frank “Pepper” and Stuart Laughon of Richmond, Virginia and sister and brother-in-law Douglas and Ray Wallace of Richmond, Virginia. Rob proudly served as Sergeant in the Unites States Army 101st Airborne Division and defended his country in the Vietnam War where he earned the Combat Infantryman Badge- Bronze Star with Valor. He went on to enjoy a successful career in retail management for many years and worked for several high-end retail companies including Best Products and Service Merchandise. Rob worked for Crest Cadillac for over 15 years and then Grubbs Nissan as Director of Fleet Services. He prided himself in offering very personalized service and loved helping others as well as the opportunity to meet new people. A true gentleman, humble and full of class, he was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Rob was a longtime member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Plano, TX. A Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home on Thursday January 2, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held the following day, Friday January 3, 2014 at 2:30 pm at Restland Memorial Chapel.
