Robert Ralph Lohre's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Lohre, 69 of Dallas, Texas, born September 9, 1954, in Frankfurt, Germany. He
passed away with his family by his side on Friday, August 23, 2024, in Plano, following a lengthy battle of symptoms from Parkinson’s Disease, dementia and kidney disease.
Bob was a 1973 graduate of South Garland High School and received an associate’s degree in engineering technology from Dallas Community College; was a member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) and the Garland HAM Radio club with interests in electronics, HAM and satellite radio. He enthusiastically researched the Lohre genealogy. In later years, would accompany his wife on bike rides taking part in the annual Hotter’N Hell in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was known for his quick witted conversational come backs.
Previously employed by GTE (Verizon) as an installer and metrologist; after retirement worked as a Security Guard for Baylor Dallas, and an ATM repairman for Diebold Electronics. Bob served in the United States Air Force as a Security Specialist from 1974-1977.
Preceded in death by his parents, James and Linda (Darnell) Lohre and sister, Mary (Lohre) Butler.
He is survived by his wife Gail (Dix) Lohre; daughter, Jennifer (Lohre) Azmoudeh and granddaughter, Sophie of Plano; sister Cathy (Lohre) Ueckert of Lewisville; Sr. Patricia Marie (Patti) Lohre of San Antonio and nephew, James Castro.
A reception is to be held at the Restland Funeral Home Event Center, Friday, August 30, 2024 from 10:00 to noon.
