Robert Weldon Martin's Obituary
Robert Weldon Martin, 71, passed away February 18th, 2017 in Marietta, Oklahoma. He was born October 31st, 1945 in Cushing, Oklahoma, the son of Dorothy Marie and Weldon Clair Martin. He graduated from Comanche High School in 1964 upon which he entered military service with the Air Force. He served in the Vietnam War through August of 1968 where he worked as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician and flight crew on the C-130 Hercules aircraft. On April 4th, 1969, he married Ruby Sue Stanley and resided in the Dallas/Fort Worth area working for Otis Engineering until his retirement in 2004 with 31 years of service to the company. Following his retirement, he enjoyed golfing, cruises, shooting and time with family. He is preceded in death by his parents Dorothy Marie and Weldon Clair Martin; his sister Linda Presgrove; his wife, Ruby Sue and his son, Byron Lee Martin. He is survived by his sister Mary Louise Foster, son Robert Wesley and three grandchildren Vincent Lee, Darcy Alessia, and Rebekah Hope Martin. The family will receive friends on February 23rd, 2017 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on February 23rd, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Action on Smoking and Health organization
