Robert James Mccloud's Obituary
MCCLOUD, ROBERT J. “BOB” of Dallas, was born July 2nd 1914 in Graham, Tx. & passed away August 29, 2007. The son of the late Robert & Jessie McCloud, Bob graduated from Graham High School, Univ. of North Tx., & also earned a PHD in Mass Communications from the Univ. of Iowa. Returning from school, Bob became a Printer, Reporter, & Photographer for “The Graham Leader”, founded by his Grandfather, Major J.W. Graves. Bob went on to join the Army Air Corps in 1941, serving in England with the 325th Reconnaissance Wing, & the 8th Air Force from 1942-1945 under the rank of Major. He returned to work after WWII as Assoc Editor of the Denton, paper, “The Record-Chronicle”, Director of News Services, & Journalism instructor at NTSC. He taught English & Journalism at Tx. Wesleyan College Ft. Worth & was an Engineering Technical Writer for the “Convair Ft. Worth”. Bob was also a Professor of Journalism at East Tx. State Univ, Commerce, Tx (1956-1975) He is survived by his Wife of 51 Years, Patty Sue Clark “Pat” McCloud who wishes to express gratitude to Dr. Robt. J. Haddox & Dr. Michael Gidcomb.
