Robert Keith McGinnis' Obituary
Robert Keith McGinnis was born on October 19, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois and passed away on March 19, 2015 in McKinney, Texas. Bob was born and raised in Chicago, Il. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps, serving for 2 years as corporal in WW II. After receiving an honorable discharge, he went to college, running track and cross country at the University of Illinois at Navy Pier, where he also met his wife, Dolores, in 1948. Bob later transferred to the Urbana campus, pledging Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, graduated in 1951 and married Dolores on September 15, 1951. He surrendered his life to Jesus Christ while visiting Dallas in 1962. Shortly there after, he moved his family to Dallas and started his own company, Creative Packaging Associates, becoming a sales representative in industrial packaging. He retired in 2003. Bob spent many years with his boys in Boy Scouts and with the Explorer Post. He also taught many Bible classes, was involved in Evangelism Explosion, Lay Witness Missions, and Laymen’s Leadership Institute. Bob and Dolores loved to travel, taking special trips with the grandchildren, and took the entire family on memorable trips to Ireland, Branson, and New York City. Bob was a very generous and faithful financial supporter of many mission organizations and his home church. The visitation for Robert will from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral service for Robert will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Pastor Brad Howard will be officiating Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
