Robert E. Miller's Obituary
MILLER, ROBERT (BOB) ERNEST 88, passed away on November 4, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on July 26, 1923 in Belton, MO to parents Ernest and Anna Miller. Bob was an optimistic man and was characterized as a person of high integrity and honesty who cared deeply for his family. He graduated from Belton High School in 1941 and joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942. He was shot down over Italy in 1944, was MIA but returned safely to his family toward the end of the war. After the war, Bob joined Mobil Oil where he worked for 32 years until his retirement. In his later years he especially enjoyed vacationing in Colorado and working in his beautiful yard. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Opal Miller, his children; Bob Jr. and wife Sarah Miller, Karen and husband Rick Mayer; grandchildren; Kim Ortiz, Ryan Miller, Lindsey and Troy Mayer, and great grandchildren; Kylie, Emma, and Matthew Ortiz. He will be greatly missed.
