Robert L. Miller's Obituary
Robert ‘Bob’ Miller, of Plano, Texas passed away on October 30, 2022, at 81 years young. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by his family and joined his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Ann Miller.
Pops, Dad, Papaw, Bob, Bobby as he was known to family, friends, and colleagues, was born on June 1, 1941, in Springfield, Illinois to Harold and Margaret Miller. He served honorably in the United States Army and National Guard of Illinois as a Marksman and Speed Radio Operator until 1963. Bob was a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Radio & Television Production Management. After college, he found a career he loved as a Disc Jockey at a number of radio stations such as WIRL and KVIL to name a few. He was a performer and theater manager for Corn Stock Theatre Stage during the late 1960s. Bob found other work, but radio and voice-over was his passion.
Bob married the love of his life and best friend, Mary Ann Fuller, who he lovingly referred to as his “Honey Mills” on December 29, 1962. Together they shared a lifetime full of memories, laughter, and unconditional love. The unwavering love they shared for one another will always be one to admire throughout the generations. His family of four sons, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren will continue their admiration for this love.
Bob is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Eric (Cindy) Miller of Indiantown, FL. Bradley (Nicole) Miller of McKinney, TX. Darren (Robyn) Miller of Plano, TX. Anthony (Robyn) Miller of Port Isabel, TX. Bob had nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Ian, Jaclyn, Jacqueline, Cody, Easton, Cecilia, Tyler, Jaxon, McKenna, Wyatt, Cade, and Ruby. Preceded in death by his parents, his beautiful wife, Mary Ann and their daughter, Leeanne.
Bob loved spending quality time with his family, and friends. He became a part of the Dallas Patriots family and was one of his grandson, Wyatt’s biggest and most proud fans. He adored taking walks with his Cocker Spaniel, Ollie, throughout his community. He was stubborn, quick-witted, charming, and would make you feel important and loved from your first interaction with him. Bob was a cherished husband, father, Grandpa, Papaw and friend, who always loved unconditionally and put his family first. His legacy of absolute love, strength and support will continue to be the foundation of the family for generations to come.
The services to honor Bob’s life will begin at 2:00pm on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematory in Dallas, Texas.
