Robert Biron Nusser II's Obituary
Robert B. (Bob) Nusser died March 18, 2024, at Mustang Creek Estates in Sachse, TX at the age of
89. Bob was born on May 16, 1934, to Ralph W. and Annabel Wing Nusser in Kansas City, Missouri.
Bob graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1952 and attended Baker
University in Baldwin City, KS where he majored in Business Administration, graduating in 1956.
While at Baker he met the love of his life, Pauline Carol Schwartz. They were united in marriage on
June 9, 1956, in Baldwin City and were married for 52 years until Pauline’s death in 2009. Bob
enlisted in the United States Navy after college and served three years before receiving an
honorable discharge. He later returned to the service as a reserve and officially retired from the
United States Air Force with the rank of Master Sergeant.
After his initial Naval service, Bob began working at Sears, Roebuck in Kansas City and enjoyed a
long career in management with Sears, working in the Kansas City, Atlanta and Dallas Catalog
Plants. Shortly after retiring from Sears, Bob was hired back on a part-time basis to manage the
Dallas Catalog plant property while the company was in the process of selling it. He enjoyed the
part-time job for another 5 years.
Bob was active in his community, serving as a City Councilman for several years in Prairie Village,
KS and later on, serving on the City Council in his adopted hometown of Richardson, Texas. Bob
and Pauline were faithful members of Asbury United Methodist Church in Prairie Village, KS and
First United Methodist Church of Richardson, TX.
Bob was involved with his children’s activities, serving as Scoutmaster for Troop 381 in Prairie
Village while his two boys were in Boy Scouts and serving as a leader in the YMCA Indian Princesses
program while his daughter was involved.
In his retirement years Bob and Pauline enjoyed traveling. They especially enjoyed going on more
than two dozen cruises and taking their grandsons on many adventures throughout the United
States.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pauline and his sister Barbara Hucke.
Survivors include his three children, Bob Nusser, Jr. of Wellington, KS. Jim (Sandra) Nusser of Caddo
Mills, TX, Nancy (David) Yturri of Marble Falls, TX. Bob was blessed with 5 grandsons, Robert
Nusser, Zack DeLaGarza, Justin (Holly) Nusser, Dylan DeLaGarza and Jackson Nusser, and two
great-granddaughters, Clara Pauline Nusser and Hollin May Nusser.
