Robert Joseph Owen's Obituary
OWEN, ROBERT JOSEPH born in Athens, TX on January 13, 1928. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1944, and SMU in 1948 where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Bob was a manufacturer’s Rep for Daniel Green Shoe Co. for 17 years, and later for Johnston Murphy and Bare Traps. He was a past president of the Southwestern Shoe Travelers Assn. He served in the Navy during the Korean War with the rank of Lt. (jg). Bob was preceded by his first wife, Ann Burchfiel, second, wife, GeorgeAnn Finley, his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Reagan Owen, and his brother, Dr. William R. Owen of Houston. He is survived by his son, Robert Owen Jr., and brother, Jerry Owen, and sister-in-law Margaret Owen of Houston. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 16, 2014 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
