Robert A. Parma's Obituary
Born: May 26,1937 – Died: August 19, 2018Robert was the fourth of nine children. He was born in Beaumont, TX and later, moved with his family to Ennis, TX. Robert graduated from the University of Texas in Austin and then spread his wings, working first as a stock broker in New York and later as a commercial real estate agent. At the age of 25, Robert and a best friend, Jimmy Kelley, sold all of their belongings, pooled their money and left for a year to travel in Europe.In 1970 Robert married Susan, whom he met in Alexandria, Virginia. When their daughters, Christine Nicole and Michelle Leigh were one and two, the family moved from Alexandria to Dallas to be closer to his large family. The family ultimately settled in the Lake Highlands area.Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle, when she was 27. He is survived by his daughter, Christine, her husband, Scott and their two sons, Damon and Anderson (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam); his brothers and their wives: Wesley and Joan (Dallas), Dennis and Karen (Wimberley), John and Sharon (Ennis) and Richard and Linda (Ennis). He is also survived by his sisters: Patsy and her husband, Jerry Zmolik (Ennis), Doris Zmolik (Mesquite), Carolyn Zmolik (Lewisville) and Janis and her husband Joseph Sladecek (Dallas).The service to celebrate the life of Robert Parma will be held at Restland Memorial Chapel, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75234, on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 2:30 pm.In lieu of flowers and to celebrate Robert’s love of nature, travel and adventure, please donate to the Nature Conservancy at https://www.nature.org.
