Dr. Robert "Bob" Stuart Hamilton's Obituary
Dr. Robert “Bob” Stuart Hamilton passed away on August 11, 2013 after a courageous 3 1/2 year battle with lung cancer. He was born in Longview, Texas on September 12, 1952 to Charles and Rosalyn Hamilton. Although of East Texas roots, Bob came to Dallas in 1962 and graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1971. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating in 1975, and received his dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas in 1978. Bob practiced general dentistry for 17 years prior to returning to Baylor College of Dentistry to specialize in Endodontics. He received a certificate in Endodontics in 1997. Bob had a passion for dentistry and truly loved going to work every day. He was extremely active in organized dentistry, having been a past President of the Dallas Fort Worth Endodontic Society, a member of the Board of Directors of the Dallas County Dental Society and the Chairman of the 2013 Southwest Dental Conference. Bob was a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. Bob was proud of his endodontic practice and cared deeply for his partners and staff. Bob was an avid sports fan and especially loved supporting his University of Texas Longhorns. Frequently mistaken for Mack Brown himself, “Bevo Bob” was an orange blood through and through. In his free time, Bob enjoyed sampling Dallas’s latest and greatest restaurants, playing golf with dear friends, and spending time with his beloved dog Maddie who never left his side. Bob liked to travel and cherished his trips to Pennsylvania and the beach. Bob had an infectious charm which caused all who crossed his path to instantly fall in love with him. Bob loved his family and friends unconditionally. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hamilton. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Kathleen Hamilton; his son, Jeffrey Hamilton, his mother, Rosalyn Hamilton and many other loving extended family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM (rosary at 7:00 PM) at The Abbey at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Rita Catholic Community. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Dallas County Dental Society.
