Robert "Bob" James Vaughn's Obituary
Robert "Bob" James Vaughn, went peacefully from his long bout with cancer on August 21, 2020 after reaching the age of 76 years old. He was with his beloved wife, Shirley, by his side. From his birth on June 28, 1944 to his passing, Bob was a gentleman and a loving family man. He was a committed friend and kind to everyone he met. His passion for dealing with people was evident in his career in sales and financial investing.
Bob was born a Baby Boomer to Norma and Richard Vaughn while his dad was stationed in the Army Air Corps at Lowry Field, Colorado. He was raised with his younger sister, Susan Vaughn, and graduated from Shawnee Mission East HS in Prairie Village, Kansas. After high school, he attended Pittsburg State University KS where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in August 1966 and was an active member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.
Bob had a short stint working for the Kansas Bureau of Investigations and then moved back to Texas in the early 70's to become a jewelry salesman like his father, Richard. In the 1990's, Bob earned his investment and insurance licenses and worked for several brokerage companies to include Fidelity Investments where he retired as a Stock Broker. Bob became a stock day trader in his retirement days and continued his passion for investing ever since.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents: Richard B Vaughn and Norma J Vaughn (Park).
Left to honor Bob and remember his life are his devoted and beloved wife for over 25 years, Shirley Vaughn; his sister, Susan Vaughn; his two sons: Mike and Matt Vaughn and Shirley's two children, Bobby Sullivan and Kathy Mariotti. Bob and Shirley are proud grandparents to 8 wonderful grandchildren and 6 precious great grandchildren.
