Robert Edward "BOB" Volker's Obituary
VOLKER, ROBERT EDWARD “BOB” was born December 14, 1935 in Denton, Kansas to Edward and Rilla Volker. Bob passed away October 17, 2022. He graduated salutatorian from Highland High School and was an eagle scout. Bob attended Highland Community College and served in the National Guard and graduated from Emporia State University. After graduation he was employed by the Texas Department of Insurance and later was an insurance examiner for Nevada. He married Mary Ellen Southworth in 1963 who he met at First Presbyterian Church in Dallas. They were happily married for 49 years. Bob served as an elder at both Northminster and NorthPark Presbyterian Churches. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Ellen. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-laws: Melinda and Darrell Bockemehl of Dallas, and Debbie and Brandon Quarles of Waco; grandchildren, Jared and Lauren Bockemehl and Ashtyn and Corban Quarles; and brother-in-law Bradley Charles Southworth III and wife Lynda of Rockwall, TX. There will be a private family graveside service. The family requests no flowers.
