Robert Warren Wadley's Obituary
WADLEY, ROBERT W. Born in Dallas, TX on October 4, 1923, passed away January 2, 2008. Preceded in death by his parents, Rev. and Mrs. D.L. Wadley. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Iris B. Wadley; son, Randy Wadley and wife Sherri; daughter, Vickie Curtis and husband Bob; grandchildren, Megan Wadley, Ryan Schlosser, Amanda and Ryan Abernathy; and great granddaughters, Annalise and Amelia Kate Abernathy. Robert was a veteran of World War II and served 3 years, including 18 months in the European Theatre as a Tank Commander with Troop F of the 94th Calvary, 14th Armored Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart and 2 Battle Stars. Robert was a member of Webb Chapel Baptist Church and served as a Deacon and teacher of a men’s Sunday school class for over 50 years. He was a member of Hella Shrine Temple and a Master Mason at Tannehill Masonic Lodge #52 for over 60 years. Robert retired from Vaught Aeronautics Corp, Experimental Division, after 30 years of employment. Memorial services will be at Restland Wildwood Chapel at 12:30 PM, Friday, January 4, 2008 with Rev. Ryan Abernathy, Dr. Carey Crawford and Rev. Chet Haynes officiating. Family will receive friends at home following the memorial services. Interment was at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
