Robert Joel Walker's Obituary
Known to those who loved him as Bob, was born on February 2nd, 1937 in Norman, Oklahoma, to Clay and Maureen Walker. He went to be with his Savior on May 9th, 2011. He came to Christ at an early age and was raised in a Christian home. He married Beulah Dunn on February 15th, 1963. They were blessed with two daughters, Rhonda Jane and Lorna Kay. They relocated to Richardson, TX from Oklahoma City in 1972 due to his job with Champion Spark Plug Company. Bob was an active member of The Heights Baptist Church serving many years in Sunday school leadership and as an usher. He was on the board of the Methodist Richardson Hospital Auxiliary after his retirement from Champion Spark Plug Company. Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beulah, his daughter Rhonda, and daughter, Lorna Salgado and her husband Randy, as well as his two grandchildren, Daniel and Gina, who will fondly remember him as Pop Pop. He is also survived by his twin brother, Herb Walker of Daphne, Alabama and sister, Jane Carpenter of Jacksonville, Florida and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Frances King. Bob will be remembered as a great husband, father, Pop Pop, uncle and friend who loved life and his Lord. A celebration of his life will be held at the chapel at the Heights Baptist Church on Thursday, May 12th at 10:30 am with internment at Restland Memorial Park immediately following. The family will receive guests at Restland on Wednesday, May 11th, from 6 pm to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Children’s Choir ministry at the Heights Baptist Church or the Methodist Richardson Hospital Auxilliary.
