Robert Boyd Walker's Obituary
MCKINNEY,TX- Walker, Robert Boyd, age 73, passed away at The First Presbyterian Church of McKinney on Sunday night, February 25, 2018. He resided in Princeton, Texas.Robert was born on June 22, 1945, to parents Eura V. (Newsome) Walker and Nello Boyd Walker in Dallas, Texas. He married Linda Gwen in 1969 and she preceded him in death in 2003. He married Penny Holt in 2010. He retired as an inspector from the City of Richardson.Robert was a good family man and loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He and Linda were married 34 years and together raised three children, Schelly Ward of Trophy Club, Denise Rencher of Trophy Club and Paul Wedel of Houston and niece Sondra Clements of Whiteboro. They enjoyed 5 grandchildren, Maegan (Amime) Daddis of Carrollton, Mathew Ward of Garland, Nathan and Sherina Wedel of Houston and John Austin Rencher of Trophy Club, three great nephews Justin Speake of Princeton, Stephen Davis of Rockwall and Mitchel Davis of Richardson. He is also survived by his sister, Sheila Heath of Princeton.Robert was a great friend to many. He was active in his church, he enjoyed old cars, a good game of 42 and loved camping and fishing. He will always be remembered as “Pop”, the grandfather with the treat hiding in his shirt pocket and “Unk” the uncle who was always there.He is preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Harold Smith and a grandson, Andrew Ward.Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 1:00pm at Restland Cemetery, Dallas, Texas
