I will always remember how excited I was to see you on Sundays and stand in line for a piece of candy! Its funny how something as small as a piece of candy can turn into such a fond memory. Rest in Peace “Candy Man”

Uncle Robert,Although I never got the chance to meet you or your family, I know you meant the world to my dad (Roland). I will always cherish the chance we had to talk a few years back. Love, Debbie and family
I always remember seeing him at church on Sundays as a kid and running to get a piece of candy from him that he carried for all the kids
Robert I will always remember you for your warmth and kindness. You were and will forever be “The Candy Man’ from my childhood. Looking forward to finding you at church to be greeted with a hug and of course a piece of candy. You always made us smile. We love you and will miss you always.
Oh, Robert, what to say about you? So many sweet memories. The kids at church, mine included, always ran to look for you, “The Candy Man”. They would surround you, jumping up and down, squealing “Candy Man! Candy Man!” You would grin that crooked grin, tease them a bit, and start dispensing the candy. I don’t think you ever forgot to be well supplied for every church service. You were the highlight of every service for a lot of kiddos! I will also always remember you as a very nice person. Every time I came around, you would give me a hug and tell me that you loved me. You were always very complimentary too. I never left Robert’s presence without feeling better than when I arrived. I knew your story of deliverance and was always amazed at God’s work in your life. I didn’t know anyone else who had been rescued so wonderfully. You were definitely a miracle child of God. Rest in peace Robert. The last couple of times I visited you in the nursing home, I could tell you were going downhill. You still remembered me though and had a sweet hug for me. I know you are rejoicing in heaven with all the family today. I love you cousin Robert. I will miss you.
