Robert Allred Wooldridge's Obituary
WOOLDRIDGE, ROBERT ALLRED was born February 13, 1938, passed away on January 3, 2014 from complications of heart disease. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Evelyn Wooldridge and his brother Bill Wooldridge. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon Smith Wooldridge, his daughter Tricia Hosek and his son Lane Wooldridge and his wife Rhonda. Also, he is survived by his grandchildren Lauren Pond and her husband Hunter, Meredith Hosek, and Rachael and Henry Wooldridge, his brother John Wooldridge and his wife Nancy, his sister-in-law DeEtte Wooldridge and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Mr. Wooldridge was a member of Prestoncrest Church of Christ for over 40 years, where he served as a teacher, deacon and elder. He was active for many years in the Boy Scouts, where is was a life member of the board, a Trustee, and former President of the Boy Scout Foundation. He also served many years as a volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association, serving on both Dallas and National boards. The selfless giving of his time, talent and resources was a testimony to his strong Christian faith. Mr. Wooldridge attended Texas Tech University and SMU. He graduated from the SMU School of Law in 1961. Thereafter he was in the private practice of law in Dallas for over 40 years. He was a partner in Worsham, Forsythe and Wooldridge which later merged with Hunton&Williams. He also served for many years as outside General Council for TXU and it’s subsidiaries. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 10th at 3:00 PM at the Prestoncrest Church of Christ at 12700 Preston Road in Dallas. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Boy Scouts, the Alzheimer’s Association, or a charity of your choice.
