Robert Wyatt's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Oscar Wyatt, age 90, died in Richardson, Texas on October 23, 2019. Born October 4, 1929 in Brown County, Texas, Bob spent his childhood in Early, Texas and graduated from Early High School in 1947. Bob was one of ten children born to Robert Newton Wyatt and Laura Mae Wyatt. Upon graduation Bob enlisted in the Navy and served most of his four years in Guam during the Korean War. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Navy in 1952 Bob moved to Dallas where he met the woman he would spend the next 67 years with. In May of 1952 Bob met Peggy Pollard on a blind date planned by his roommate and Peggy’s sister. They married in November of that same year. During that year Bob went to work for AT&T and worked in management there for the next 35 years. His career with AT&T took the family from Dallas to Mineral Wells, Tyler, Kansas City, KS and then back to Dallas. After retirement he and Peggy built a home in Grand Saline where they enjoyed raising all types of fruits and vegetables along with teaching the grandkids about fishing and enjoying the outdoors. A move back to Dallas enabled them to participate in their grandchildren’s activities – soccer, baseball, Girl Scouts, choir.Bob was a loving husband, a wonderful father and an involved devoted grandfather. He dedicated his life to supporting his family, assisting friends and neighbors.Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Peggy Wyatt; daughter, Betty Hart (Rick); son, Dick Wyatt; grandchildren Corey Wyatt (Stephanie), Craig Wyatt (Danielle), Cale Wyatt (Nicki), Jessica Hart and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, a brother, a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.The visitation for Bob Wyatt will be at Restland Funeral Home, Dallas at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 31. Services will follow at 12:00 PM at Restland. Burial will be at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, at 2:00 PM on October, 31.
