Robert Francis Xavier Yaksick's Obituary
Robert died at their new home on Sunday, December 4th. His Large heart had finally stopped, and thankfully there was no long hospital stay after all he had endured in prior years. He was a good son, brother, friend, football player, husband, father, salesman and Pop to his grandkids. He loved his time at Rutgers University and proudly quarterbacked the undefeated team of 1961. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears, then returned to school to finish his degree. After 2 1/2 years in the Air Force, he married Judith Harris of Lubbock, TX. in Colorado Springs.
Robert traveled the world and never knew a stranger while working for Phillips/Norelco, selling razors to clients as large as Wal Mart and the US Military.
When he settled the family in Dallas in 1976 after several moves, he declared "Home at Last!" He bought a cowboy hat and fit right in, even though he Clairton, PA roots. An avid sports fan, Robert rooted for every Dallas team from Lake Highlands High School to SMU to the Rangers and the Cowboys. Robert and Judith were grateful for the new faith community they found at the First United Methodist Church of Richardson.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Judith, their children: daughter Susan Yaksick Kemmerer and husband Joel, son Craig and wife Liz Yaksick and his four grandchildren: Kate and Luke Kemmerer and Harris and Deuce Yaksick. Additionally, survived by his loving sister Ginny Aylward and family and brother -in-law Jim Harris and family.
After a private interment, there will be a small Celebration of Life in January.
