Roberta Fisher's Obituary
Erin Roberta Fisher
April 18, 1947 - July 10, 2026
Erin Roberta Fisher, lovingly known as Roberta, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, the city where her remarkable life began on April 18, 1947. She was born to Wanda Sue (Jones) Hanna and Henry Alfred Hanna and remained deeply connected to her Texas roots throughout her life.
Roberta was a woman whose warmth, kindness, and genuine love for people touched countless lives. She was the ultimate people person—someone who found joy in conversation, friendship, and helping others. Whether speaking with a lifelong friend, a neighbor, or someone she had just met, Roberta had a unique gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. Her love for people was returned many times over by all who knew her.
On May 21, 2005, she married her love, Arthur Fisher, in Dallas, Texas. Together they shared a loving marriage filled with companionship, laughter, music, and cherished memories. Roberta loved music, especially rock and roll and pop, and she particularly treasured the song Magic by Olivia Newton-John, which she and Arthur danced to at their wedding and enjoyed listening to throughout their years together.
Family was at the center of Roberta’s life. She was devoted not only to her loved ones but also to her beloved dogs, whom she affectionately considered her babies. She loved gathering family and friends together, especially during the holidays. Christmas was her favorite season, and she delighted in decorating, entertaining, and watching Christmas movies. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, exploring recipes from the Food Network, and adding to her extensive cookbook collection. In her younger years, Roberta enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, dancing, and celebrating life with friends and family.
Roberta attended North Dallas High School before completing her senior year at Woodrow Wilson High School, graduating with the Class of 1965. She built a successful career working in medical and dental offices, where she served as an Office Manager and Receptionist for many years. Her professionalism, dedication, and friendly nature made her a valued colleague and a comforting presence to countless patients.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Alfred Hanna; her mother, Wanda Sue Jones; her brother, Henry Alfred Hanna III; her sister, Wanda Jean Starrett; and her late husband, Dr. Jerry Chitwood.
She leaves behind her husband, Arthur Fisher; sister Celia Herndon and husband Troy; brother David Hanna and wife Cherie; her stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2026. Funeral services will be held at Restland Funeral Home on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a brief graveside service at Restland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Operation Kindness, a charity close to Roberta’s heart.
Roberta’s legacy of kindness, generosity, hospitality, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have shared in her life.
