Robley Louis Larriviere Jr.'s Obituary
Robley Louis Larriviere Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on December 28, 2024. He leaves behind his beloved wife of over 70 years, Ann Louise, and four children: Melissa Larriviere, Robley (Elaine), Michael (Lisa), and Daniel (Kylie). He loved life and was devoted to his family and faith.
Robley (“Rob”) was born to Robley Louis and Leah Martin Larriviere in Lafayette, Louisiana. He graduated from Louisiana State University, served in the U.S. Air Force, and worked his adult life as an accountant for the Mobil Oil and Texas Oil and Gas companies in the Dallas area until his retirement.
Throughout the years, Ann and he gathered their family together often for vacations at the beach, the lake, and the mountains. Rob enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family as he cheered for his two favorite football teams, The Dallas Cowboys and the LSU Tigers, never quietly. He also enjoyed long walks, reading and complex crossword puzzles.
You never knew when he would start singing an old song just for the fun of it!
The family received great benefits from the famous quotations he repeated time after time! Wise sayings we all enjoy and pass on.
Rob was proud of his Cajun French roots. He loved hunting and fishing there with his Louisiana cronies and his oldest son Rob. He was an excellent storyteller and wove hilarious tales about the folks and critters of that area complete with a Cajun dialect.
Rob and Ann were longtime members of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Richardson, Texas. Rob was a member of the Knights of Columbus and rose to Grand Knight, and he served for several years in that role. He attended Bible study classes, and Ann and he were faithful attendees at Sunday Mass.
Rob leaves behind his grandchildren Justin (Kelli), Jessica, Jennifer (Richard), Jaime (Shane), Janea (Austin), Joshua, Natalie, Aidan, and Ella. His great-grandchildren are Landon, Audrey, Clara, Lucy, Rylee, Hallee, and Charlee. To them all he was known affectionately as “Papa.” He is also survived by his sister, Louise Larriviere Cordell, and many nieces and nephews who loved his wry humor.
Rob leaves behind a lifetime of fond memories and an enduring legacy of his love for and devotion to his family.
