Rodney Pirkle's Obituary
Rodney Earl Pirkle was born March 27, 1929 in Denison, Texas and passed away Wylie, TX on January 18, 2012. Rodney worked for the MKT/Union Pacific Railroad 42 years. He loved all sports, was an avid golfer, active member of the Arlington Senior Men’s Golf and Softball Association, and Hella Shrine Golfers. His greatest love was spending time with family. He is preceded in death by his son, Rodney Pirkle, Jr.; father and mother, Wylie and Larie Pirkle; brother, Wylie. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosemary; daughter Darlene Berry and her husband Jim; 2 grandsons, Brian Berry and wife Shelley; Steven Berry and wife Katie; 4 great grandsons Brady, Breck, Brooks and Logan, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 6-8pm at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 12:30pm at Restland Memorial Chapel, Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
