Rodney Steven Waco's Obituary
Rodney Steven Waco, 71 of Arlington, Texas passed away at home November 15, 2014 after several years of battling multiple health issues. Rod was born Febuary 7, 1943 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Robert “Bob” and Lillian Waco. He graduated from Northside High School in Ft. Worth in 1961, and from North Texas State University in 1970. While in High School and college Rod excelled in sports and was the recipient of several athletic awards. Then with that same amount of enthusiasm, gigantic personality, and irreverent humor, he embarked on a successful career in medical sales. Rod was truly a most unforgettable character in each role he played throughout his life: husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, professional, and friend. It is with heartbreaking sadness that we let him go. Rod is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Marc Waco and wife, Gina and their children, Avery, Cate and Grant; daughter, Holly Ragsdill and husband, Jody and their children, Mackenzie, Megan, Merideth and Maxwell; son, Matthew Waco and wife, Francesca; brother, Dr. Michael Waco and wife, Linda and their children and families. Special love and thanks to Rod’s buddy, Elton Murdock. The memorial service for Rod will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 20, 2014 in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75238. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, The American Heart Association, or a charity of your choice.
