Thank you for fighting to stay here for the past 19 year. Despite your condition, you still provided and inspired. I love you.
Dear Velma, I am so very sorry to hear about Rodney. Having sons of my own, I can only imagine your heartbreak and sorrow. I am not able to get back to Dallas in time for the service due to the weather and the drive. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Adrienne Pennington
Rodney was a business partner, teammate, close friend and confidant. Our family will dearly miss him. We prefer to say not in grief 'he is no more' but in thankfulness "that he was". We were truly blessed to have been able to be a part of his life. Our special prayers and thoughts go out to Barbara and the children. Perhaps when they look toward the sky, the lights they see won't be stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of Rodney shines down upon them to let them know the is happy. Mike, Roxanne, Michael, Alexandra and Nicholas Cortright
Only wonderful memories of this beautiful person. He inspired all that he came in contact with. The world is a much better plc because he was in it. Rest in peace Rodney. Thanks for all the wonderful memories. Wanda Fox
Dear Waters Family, while we did not know Bro.Rodney personally, as.a Gospel Preacher, newly at Christian Chapel Temple of Faith, it has been a Blessing to observe," A Virtuous and Dutiful Wife", in Deaconess BarBarbara. She has kept her marriage vows," THROUGH THICK AND THIN, THROUGH GOOD AND BAD TIMES, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY. THROUGH THE DURATION OF HIS ILLNESS," IN SICKNESS AND HEALTH". In a world that is seldomly committed to anything, or anyone," DEACONESS BARBARA WATERS IS AN INSPIRATION ", TO WOMEN IN THE BODY OF CHRIST.", and we were blessed in observing you. We love you all, and are praying for you, knowing having just buried, our 3 mth.old baby Christian, 3 mths.ago, that " THEIR TIME IS NOT OVER, IT' S ONLY JUST BEGUN..IN CHRIST JESUS..BE STEADFAST, REV.DENINAH GOODWIN AND FAMILY
To The Walter Family, Our prayers go out to the Walter Family. Rodney and I worked at Rockwell together for many years. We had the pleasure of playing several sports together for Rockwell. I was a player coach back then. Lynn also played with us a few times. I also had the pleasure of coaching Little Rod in baseball. Those memories are dear to me. My last visit with Rodney was special. The time before our last visit with Rodney (Homer, Ricky, Al, and Arthur) he was asked if we could bring he something next time. Rodney told us to bring a hamburger next time. So on our next and last visit with Rodney, Ricky remembered and called me and asked what kind of burger to get. Not knowing for sure we just got a hamburger because he said he wanted one. When we got there Rodney had just finished lunch. Care taker said that they would put up his hamburger until later. Rodney heard this and wanted the hamburger, fries, and drink. He ate it all. We listened to some old songs of which he knew and sing along every word. We had a great visit that day. To the Walter Family "Keep Your Head To The Sky". Rodney was a classmate at NTSU and we saw each other a few times after we both left campus. He was kind and considerate during our college years and I'm sure that never changed. Please accept my condolences and know the mighty Comforter is your source of strength during times of hardship and grief. I have learned to depend on Him for being my all and all!!!! Sincerely, R. DeLana Cofield a/k/a Garrett Class of 77 due to marriage and returning 2 years later to graduate!!
