YOUNG, ROGER L. was born on September 23, 1916 in Tupelo, Mississippi and passed away on September 17,2010 in Rowlett, Texas. He retired from the Dallas Transit Authority. Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Bess Young; grandson, Chris Wiler; and sisters, Inez Walker, Ann Kratz, and Katherine Collins. Roger is survived by his daughter, Beverly Smitherman and her husband, Mike; sisters-in-law, Vivian Youngblood and Martha Battle; brothers-in-law, Roy Collins, and Robert Battle and his wife Beverly; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Restland Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 20, 2010 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
