Roma D. Humphreys' Obituary
Roma Dickert Humphreys, Roma D. Humphreys joined her loving husband in the presence of our Lord Savior on May 1, 2010at the age of 84. She was born in Chattanooga, TN on April 3, 1926, to Senator Eaton Dickert and Bernice Elizabeth Youngker Dickert. Roma met her husband Bill at Central High School in Chattanooga and they married February 20, 1947. She graduated first from Whitworth College in 1945, and then from the University of Tennessee in 1948. Roma and Bill became perfect examples of love and dedication to all who knew them. They were lifelong members of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson and were later members of the First United Methodist of Heath. Roma is survived by two children, Richard Frank Humphreys of Austin, TX, and Roma Diane Humphreys Lovejoy of Rockwall, TX. She dearly loved and was adored by her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Roma is preceded in death by her husband William S. Humphreys after sixty years of marriage, world travels and constant mutual admiration. All services provided by Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. Family will receive friends from six o’clock pm until eight o’clock pm May 6, 2010 at Restland. A Funeral Service will at noon Friday May 7, 2010 in Abbey Chapel followed by loving farewells at the grave site.
