Ronald “Ron” Joe Blair of Plano, Texas entered the kingdom of Heaven on January 21, 2019 after complications caused by a stroke.Ron was born in Lucas, Arkansas on December 29, 1938. He lived a happy childhood with his parents, Joe Read Obituary
I had the privilege of knowing Ron while working at the University of Texas at Dallas. He was a kind man who was devoted to teaching and a devout Christian. We talked about his love for music and singing in the church choir. I know he is now singing in Heaven’s choir.
Some forty years ago I had the good fortune to meet and become friends with Ronald, this relationship ripened into a close lifetime friendship. We have stayed in close and regular touch right up until his last illness. I am deeply saddened by Ronald’s death and will sorely miss our regular telephone visits. I will forever treasure the fond memories of this wonderful friendship that we both so cherished. Celinda, May God Bless you and your daughters and give you comfort during this sad time in your lives.

Ronnie and I were distantly related as his grandfather, Jim Pennington and our grandfather, Oscar Pennington, were our connection. I have fond memories of Ron from our early days in and around Lucas. Later we would occasionally run into each other, first at the U of A and then some family reunions. Sadly we lost touch over the years but the memories stand out as they portray a kinder time when extended families were close. So sad to hear of his passing but I know we shall see him again.
