Ronald Preston Branch's Obituary
Branch,Ronald Preston , 74, died peacefully at his Lewisville home surrounded by his family on December 10, 2012 after a long battle with COPD. He was born at Old Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas on April 4, 1938, the youngest of four sons to R.H. and Willie Lu Branch. He was raised off Maple Avenue in Dallas and attended Crozier Tech where he was a member of the state championship basketball team in 1955 and formed many lifelong friendships. He married Barbara Broach at SMU Perkins Chapel on August 21, 1959. He eventually formed his own landscaping company after being employed with Continental Airlines. As an independent contractor, he was closely associated with many Dallas area country clubs including the Dallas Country Club and Glen Eagles Country Club. He and his wife moved to Carrollton in 1970 where they raised their two sons. In retirement, he enjoyed keeping in touch with friends and watching sports, including his grandchildren’s soccer and baseball games. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Kenneth Branch and brother-in-law, James Ray. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Branch of Lewisville; son, Dr. Scott Branch of Scottsdale, AZ; son, Brad Branch and wife, Sara of Lantana; three grandchildren, Brianna, Sydney, and Diego Branch of Lantana; sister-in-law Jo Ray of Richardson, brother Don Branch( Jeane) of Dallas; brother Glen Branch (Shirley) of Dallas; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 15 at 3:00 p.m. in the Restland Wildwood Chapel.
