Ronald James Brumfield's Obituary
BRUMFIELD, RONALD JAMES passed away and went to be with his Lord on November 1, 2012 at the age of 67. He was born to Wilma and Jewell “Buddy” Brumfield in Rotan, Texas on January 5, 1945. He married Vickie Lee Berry on June 19, 1981. Ron is survived by his wife, Vickie; daughter, Kimberly; granddaughter, Railey and numerous aunts and cousins. Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Restland Memorial Chapel and includes a Masonic Service. Ron grew up in Odessa, TX graduating from Permian High in 1963 and matured in Houston, Texas graduating from the University of Houston in 1971. While going to college in Houston, he joined the ranks at a telephone company where he made many lifelong friends and had a successful career. His career in telecommunications spanned the next 40 years. Ron enjoyed his frequent visits to Jamaica Beach in Galveston Island where he was able to relax, fish from our dock and boat in Galveston Bay. Ron found enjoyment being a Master Mason. He was a member of Reagan Lodge #1037 in Houston and passed as Master Mason of Dallas Lodge # 760 in Dallas. He was also a member of Scottish Rite and the York Rite. The family suggest in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Salvation Army or the American Cancer Society.
