Ron graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in Business Management. He met and married Nancy Flowers in Denver Colorado. Together they built a life in Carrollton, Texas and raised their two children. Ron was determined to give his family roots and the opportunity to make friends that would last a lifetime. He succeeded in accomplishing that goal and his family thrived as a result. In 1990, his beloved Nancy died after a long battle with cancer. He took this time to travel and be an instrument of God by doing mission work in Romania as well as becoming active in the prison ministry in Huntsville, Texas. In 1992 God blessed him with a beautiful new bride Barbara. This union brought so much joy as his family grew and grandchildren became part of his life.In 2007 his daughter Rachel met and married Toby Tindall and three more beautiful granddaughters were added to the brood. In 2013, one of his happiest and proudest moments was baptizing Toby and the girls at Southside Church of Christ, a church he had attended years before as a newlywed with Nancy. Ron was a bible scholar, an avid traveler, historian, and engaging conversationalist. One of his greatest gifts was being a teacher. His knowledge wasn’t limited to a classroom it was shared and developed thru every conversation he had with his friends at Starbucks, in car rides, and over dinner tables. As his good friend and Romanian English student Adrian Chokoy said: “I can’t wait until we meet again and can continue the discussion in eternity.” We all look forward to continuing the discussion with Ron.Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 25th, 2018 from 6-8 at Prestoncrest Church of Christ with a celebration of life held Thursday, April 26th at 3:00 pm also at Prestoncrest Church of Christ. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to:Huntsville Prison Ministries*(Please attach a note to your check – “Donation in memory of Ron Chitwood”)P.O.
