Ronald Leroy Edwards' Obituary
Ronald L. Edwards, 86, of Dallas, TX, went to be with his Lord and Savior August 18, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bessie Seevers Edwards, and sister, Eileen Duffy. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Betty Edwards; his son, Glen Edwards and wife, Denise; his daughters, Darla Bunch and husband, Ronnie; Ronda Russell and husband, Brent; his step-daughters Jackie South and husband, Sam; Shannon Nixon and husband, Daniel; and sister, Lois Gamble. Ron also has 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Ron was born in Chester, WV on November, 24, 1929. He was raised in East Liverpool, OH where he worked in his father’s barber shop and graduated from East Liverpool High School. He always spoke of his special memories of working on his grandparents’ farm every summer. After high school, Ron attended and graduated from barber school, but joined the U.S Air Force 1948. He served nine years and was honorably discharged in 1957 as a staff sergeant. Having been stationed in Texas during his Air Force service, he remained in the Dallas/Fort Worth area his entire adult life and had a successful career in sales. A service will be held at 12:00pm on August 22, 2016 with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service at Restland Funeral Home, Abbey Chapel, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243. Interment will be 1:15pm on August 24, 2016 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
