Ronald Neal Gilleland's Obituary
Ronald Neal Gilleland, 79, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Ron was born September 5, 1939 in Dallas, Texas, to Gertrude A. and Robert M. Gilleland.Ron attended Sunset High School and graduated in 1958. He also attended University of Arlington. He was a member of Hampton Road Baptist Church. Ron was a buyer for Sears Roebuck and Company and retired after 30 years. He owned and operated All American Yogurt in Duncanville, Texas and owned The Gingerbread House School and Daycare in Lancaster, Texas. He retired from Army and Air Force Exchange Service after 20 years including military service.Ron is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ida (Parrott) Gilleland; child, Irene Gilleland; grandchildren, Amethyst (Gilleland) Houston and husband Derrick “DJ” Houston and Montana and Florence Gilleland; great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Houston; and nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Hayley Gilleland.He was preceded in death by his son, Samuel “Tony” Gilleland; mother and father, Gertrude “Trudie” and R.M. Gilleland; brothers, Murray L. Gilleland, Robert P. Gilleland, Glynn E. Gilleland, and Gary D. Gilleland and half-brother, Avery Gilleland.Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2, at 12:30pm in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
