Ronald Elbert Hardy's Obituary
Ronald Elbert Hardy was born September 22, 1948, in Perkins, Oklahoma to the late Mr. Irvin Hardy and Mrs. Eva (Jamison) Hardy. He departed this life Friday, April 10, 2026, in Lewisville, TX at the age of 77 years, 6 months, and 19 days.
He lived a full memorable life in service of others. Perhaps it began as a boy while lending a helping hand at his father’s gas/service station. His compassion solidified when he became a Lewisville Fire Fighter in the early seventies. Those who knew Captain Hardy say he was a great man and a kind soul. He made his family very proud, and we were blessed to have him in our lives.
Ron enjoyed riding motorcycles, shooting pool and driving in stock car races in his younger days. He spent as much time as possible out on the golf course and loved competition in tournaments. His highest golfing achievement came in 2018 when he took the title of the Golf Channel AM Tour Senior Snead Flight Champion.
Survivors include his loving wife Glenda Hardy of the home; two sons, Ron Hardy of Krum, TX, and Jake Gravley and fiancé Yvonne of Durant, OK.; two daughters, Tammy Hardy and husband Bill Ivey of Grapevine, TX and Toni Howrilka of Denton, TX; sister, Evelyn Burns of Wilson, OK; brother Mark Hardy and wife Deidra of Howe, TX; 7 grandchildren, Noah, Ella, Dominick, Justin, Jessica, Laura and Kaleigh; and 6 great-grandchildren, Jackson, Malcolm, Charlotte, Jacen, Judson and Jett.
