Ronald Francis Lindsay's Obituary
Ronald Francis Lindsay, age 84, passed away June 15, 2017, surrounded by his family under the attentive care of the staff at Medical City Dallas. He was born July 24,1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Dr. Ronald James and Dorothy (Shaver) Lindsay and was the oldest of six children. He was a 1951 graduate of Saint Mel High School in Chicago and a proud graduate of Christian Brothers College in Memphis, TN. Ron married the love of his life, Judith McRoberts, on August 25,1956 and had four children. He retired from Lone Star Gas in 1997 after a long career as a chemist. In his retirement, he enjoyed thousands of hours of volunteer work at the Network of Community Ministries and Medical City Dallas. Ron is lovingly remembered for his warm hospitality, sense of humor and his love of family and friends, jazz music, his dogs, and the great outdoors. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, sister Carol (Tom) Hayes, and brother William Lindsay. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Judy; sisters, Donna (Dick) Nighswander, Dorothy Lindsay; brother Robert (Susan) Lindsay; sister-in-law Gail Lindsay; son, Ron (Victoria); daughters, Margaret (Glynn), Virginia (David), Suzi (Tom); 12 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Family, friends, and others whose lives Ron touched are invited to his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, Dallas, with a reception to follow, and a Memorial Mass in Illinois the following week. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ron’s name to the Network of Community Ministries or the SPCA. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
