Ronald Nelson's Obituary
Ron was born on December 6,1939 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and died on August 14, 2023, in Austin, Texas.
He is survived by his daughter, Joanna Cheung; his grandchildren, Linda Cheung and Alexander Cheung; his niece, Heather Nelson; his life partner, Mary Jane Dietz; Mary Jane’s daughter, Stephanie Baker; Stephanie’s husband, Jeremy Patton; and Stephanie and Jeremy’s sons, Charlie and Jackson Baker-Patton.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Olivea Eisenberg Nelson and Dan Nelson, and his brother, Robert Nelson.
Ron was a talented architect, an avid sailor, and a lover of history, nature, and travel. He was a longtime member of First Unitarian Church of Dallas and is remembered fondly by his fellow church members, his family, and his friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron’s memory to the Dallas SPCA.
